The following organizations fulfil environmental regulation and/or assessment functions on Nisg̱a’a territory:
Joint Fisheries Management Committee: With members from the Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the British Columbia Ministry of Fisheries, this organization reviews annual fishing plans and jointly manages other fisheries-related issues such as harvest monitoring, regulation, licencing, and enforcement.
Wildlife Committee: Created under Chapter 8, this organization exists to “facilitate wildlife management within the Nass Wildlife Area” and is responsible for making recommendations to the Minister and Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government about a range of wildlife matters, providing wildlife management advice, developing long-term wildlife management plans, and sharing information with and communicating with other management or advisory bodies. The Wildlife Committee has up to nine members, with an equal number of Nisg̱a’a and British Columbia members and one member appointed by Canada.
